Dalyce achieved her Master’s of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto, which was complemented by her Honours Degree in Applied Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo.
Her interest in the human body began at a very young age after she was gifted with an anatomy computer game from her parents one year. Although it definitely didn’t make her any ‘cooler’ to her grade 6 classmates, she was instantly enthralled by the complicated interconnectivity of all the body’s various systems and how they worked together.
Dalyce’s favourite part of being a physiotherapist is that it combines her favorite things, solving problems and helping people achieve their goals. She loves that her “work” allows her to meet and connect with different people each day as she works with them to improve their health.
Dalyce’s thirst for knowledge had led her to complete five years of coursework and exams in order to obtain a Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Therapy and become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). She has been trained in Anatomical Acupuncture and obtained her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification. She recently completed her Gunn IMS training and is excited to have another tool to incorporate into her treatment planning.
Dalyce uses a combination of education, manual therapy, exercise and acupuncture or IMS to treat her patients. She believes each patient requires a personalized treatment plan according to their individual goals, physical condition and lifestyle.
In her spare time Dalyce enjoys working out, reading and spending time with friends and family. She recently had her first baby, Evy, in February via C-section and now feels like she has even more empathy for all of the core strengthening homework she has given her patients! Dalyce’s current projects include; finding a new rescue friend for Sophie the dog (Soph is in a state of melancholy now that she is no longer an only child), learning to cook more than scrambled eggs and pancakes for dinners, and trying to figure out how to incorporate an adult gymnastics class into her schedule.
