Soraia has been a practicing RMT since 2016. She graduated with honours from Humber College in Massage Therapy and also holds a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotions. She worked for several years as a personal trainer and fitness coach, primarily working with soccer athletes. Soraia was also a competitive soccer player in the OWSL and WDSL for many years.
She is no stranger to the rehab process, having gone through 3 knee surgeries herself. Her experiences and passion for fitness and health, lead her to pursue a career in health care. She understands the importance of having a knowledgeable and caring therapist, who truly understands your needs, and she strives to provide well-rounded treatments, taking a patient-centered and individualized approach.
Soraia incorporates a variety of techniques in her treatments including Swedish techniques, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations and stretches to address soft-tissue limitations. However, she firmly believes in active therapy for long lasting results and educates patients on load management and exercise options. She strives to provide her patients with the knowledge and support they need to stay active in their own health care.
Driven by her desire and passion to provide effective treatments she continues her education by taking courses to improve her communication, assessments and exercise prescription. She has dedicated herself to being a lifelong learner and knows the importance of staying current in her field.
When Soraia is not in treatment she tries to practice what she preaches by weightlifting, working on her mobility and dabbling in some yoga. On her downtime you can find her binge watching Netflix, watching puppy videos or spending time with her nieces and nephew.
