Mobilization of the Foot Exercises [Demonstration]
Published on 19/10/17
Do you suffer from plantar fasciitis? Achilles tendonitis? Calf strains? Foot cramping? Bunions? Hammer toes? Then look no further.
Try this amazing foot mobilization sequence and get the fascia, soft tissues and bones in your feet moving again.
With modern footwear and sedentary lifestyles our feet suffer most by becoming stiff and ultimately not having the capacity to absorb shock with each step we take.
This exercise is particularly helpful if you suffer from any lower body injury. We suggest doing this exercise in standing so that you can use your body weight to help deliver the right amount of pressure but if that is too challenging or painful you can always do this exercise sitting down.
Try closing your eyes before you start and pay attention to where most of the pressure is on the bottom of your feet.
You will notice a big change once you complete this self massage exercise and you may even notice that you are able to activate lower body muscles like your gluteals much easier once your feet are grounded better!
Never perform this exercise if you are feeling too much pain, strain or discomfort anywhere in your body.
We always recommend talking to a qualified health professional such a Physiotherapist to ensure this exercise is right for your body. To book an appointment with one of our expert Physiotherapists in downtown Toronto, give us a call.
