She summarizes the various management approaches that physiotherapists use when treating the TMJ including education, manual therapies, postural re-education, prescriptive exercise, acupuncture and Gunn IMS to name a few.
TMJ conditions that can be treated effectively using physiotherapy include:
- Jaw pain
- Jaw stiffness
- Clicking, popping or locking of the jaw
- Headaches stemming from the jaw
- Fascial pain caused by the TMJ
