Masha completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2018 after earning an Honours Bachelor of Medical Sciences from Western University in 2013.
Upon completion of her BMSc degree, Masha worked as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and nutrition coach for several years before pursuing her Master’s degree. In this time, she completed courses in Running Assessment, and Powerlifting and earned certifications in Fascial Stretch Therapy, Soft Tissue Release, and Sports Nutrition.
As a registered physiotherapist, Masha continues to highly value continuing education to ensure she can provide the best possible evidence based care to her patients. She has completed courses in Advanced Manual Therapy, acupuncture, The McKenzie method, Athletic taping, and the specific treatment of a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. She is a certified Gunn IMS practitioner, and has a special interest in the treatment of chronic pain and complex cases.
No two patients are alike, therefore Masha develops individualized treatment plans for her patients based on a comprehensive history, a thorough physical exam, and the unique patient profile. Her focus is to find the root of the problem, address the issue, and help patients achieve their goals and maintain the highest level of function possible.
Masha’s approach to treatment is multimodal and involves patient education, a variety of manual therapy techniques, and individualized exercise prescription.
Outside of the clinic, Masha enjoys exploring the best places to eat in the city, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and trying to break personal records in the weights section at the gym. She also loves to travel, and has visited much of Europe and Central America.
And as may be obvious from her name, Masha is Russian and speaks the language fluently.
