Holistic Nutrition in Downtown Toronto

Holistic Nutrition Services in Downtown Toronto at Rebalance

Nutritional counselling services are offered at our clinic in downtown Toronto. Our Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP) is a healthcare professional who received her Applied Holistic Nutrition diploma with Honours from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition.

CNPs or Holistic Nutritionists are trained in human physiology, disease, and how nutrition and lifestyle affect human health.

What is Holistic Nutrition?

Holistic nutrition looks at the individual, assessing each person’s unique health concerns and imbalances in order to come up with an individualized nutritional protocol.

This protocol incorporates dietary, supplementation and lifestyle recommendations in a manageable and effective format that enables the client to move at his or her own pace to achieve their optimal state of wellness.

Holistic nutrition factors in all of the components that affect a person’s wellbeing starting with the foods they eat, but also including lifestyle practices, nutrient deficiencies, stress, toxicity, heavy metals, environment, emotional and mental health, among other things.

A nutritionist can help you with detoxification, stress and disease-reduction making you a happier, more balanced person in the process.

Why See a Holistic Nutritionist?

A holistic nutritionist’s approach aims to educate, empowering their client to continue their quest for optimal health and wellbeing while offering them the support they need during their transition.

The objective is that each client will understand how they came to their current level of health and what they need to do to achieve their goals.

Types of Nutritional Consultations Offered

Initial Nutritional Consultation + Individualized Protocol:

This package of officially 2 appointments is for the person who has specific concerns they would like addressed via a thorough nutritional work-up and includes an individualized 8-week protocol.

Prior to their initial visit, clients are given an intake questionnaire and a diet diary to complete. During the initial consultation, your nutritionist will go through these forms and gather a better understanding of your symptoms and health history, as well as get detailed information on any medications or supplements you are taking.

At this time, your nutritionist will help you define your wellness goals based on what you would like to see change about your health and your life.

You will leave this first appointment with a preliminary list of recommendations involving foods, supplements and lifestyle in order to begin your wellness journey. You will also be asked to complete an online questionnaire that gives your nutritionist a more detailed picture of your nutrient deficiencies, toxicities and specific imbalances. This aids in the creation of your individualized nutritional protocol.

Within 2-4 weeks, you will come back for the more extensive protocol delivery portion of your initial consultation. At this time, your nutritionist will explain your current level of health in greater detail, showing you how your deficiencies and imbalances are connected, and how they relate to your current symptoms and overall health.

The focus of your individualized 8-week protocol will be on the root causes of your symptoms and will be geared toward your main concerns and goals.

Your nutritional consultation is an interactive and educational experience where you have the opportunity to ask questions and can openly share your thoughts and concerns with your nutritionist without worry of judgment.

Single-Session Appointments for New Clients:
The single-session appointment is for someone who wants an introduction into healthy living via more general recommendations on what to eat, how to eat it, and which supplements, super-foods and lifestyle changes they should incorporate into their daily routine for overall wellbeing.

If you have specific concerns that would require a more thorough nutritional work-up and are interested in an individualized 8-week protocol , it is advised that you consider the “Full Work-up” Initial Nutritional Consultation package.

Follow-up Consultations:

Future visits can be used to check-in on your progress as you reach your wellness goals. At these appointments, we can either set you up with a maintenance protocol that you can follow long-term or we can make adjustments to your protocol addressing new concerns or health issues that weren’t as pressing at the time of your initial visit.

5-day Meal Plan:

If you would prefer to be given specific suggestions on meals that would suit your dietary needs and preferences, along with recipes, you can request a 5-day meal plan in addition to one of the above appointment options.

Single-Session + Meal Plan Package (Single and Family Rate):

The single-session + 5-day meal plan package is for someone who wants general recommendations on how to live and eat more healthily, as well as general guidance on supplements, super-foods and lifestyle changes AND a 5-day meal plan including recipes.

If you have specific concerns that would require a more thorough nutritional work-up, you might want to consider the “Full Work-up” Initial Nutritional Consultation package plus a Meal Plan.
