Masha earned an Honours Bachelor of Medical Sciences from Western University in 2013, and subsequently completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2018. Prior to starting her Master’s degree, Masha worked as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and nutrition coach, which fueled her passion for using purposeful movement to maximize function and improve quality of life. Thus, ultimately leading her to pursue Physical Therapy as a career. No two patients are alike, therefore Masha develops individualized treatment plans for each of her patients, based on a comprehensive history and unique client presentation. Her focus is to find the root of the problem, address the issue, and help patients achieve their goals and maintain the highest level of function possible.
Masha highly values continuing education, and consistently applies the latest research to her practice to ensure she is providing her patients with the best evidence-based treatments. Masha has taken courses in Running Assessment, Powerlifting, and Sports Nutrition, and has earned certifications in Fascial Stretch Therapy, Soft Tissue Release, and K Taping. She completed her Level 1 Manual Therapy Certification, and plans to achieve the FCAMPT designation within the next five years. She also plans to pursue courses in acupuncture and dry needling in the near future.
Masha’s approach to treatment is multimodal and involves patient education, a variety of manual therapy techniques, and individualized exercise prescription.
Outside of the clinic, Masha enjoys exploring the best places to eat in the city, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and trying to break personal records in the weights section at the gym. She also loves to travel, and has visited much of Europe and Central America.
In case the name didn’t tip you off, Masha is Russian and speaks the language fluently.
