We all know the feeling. Muscle tension and joint stiffness. Whether we’ve been stuck at our desks all day, locked in traffic, or pounding out the mileage in preparation for an upcoming race. Our bodies system of muscle, fascia and connective tissue can stiffen up, creating areas of tension and prevent us from moving optimally.
BodyWorks utilizes a unique approach to prehab/rehab treatment. A 60 minute session offered at Rebalance Sports Medicine, featuring a combination of mobility, Joga, Sports Massage and Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST).
Its purpose is to educate participants about the mechanics of the body; increase core/breath integration, build strength and improve joint stability; work on muscle imbalances, mobilize areas of tension and create better balance.
We’ll identify each client with areas of focus, whether it’s better mobility or improving breathing and core strength. Every session will be customized to the needs of each client.
Every BodyWorks session will begin with Joga, to help identify and work on imbalances and build strength. Then you will be led into deep stretches and soft tissue work with an FST/Sports Massage session for recovery.
Joga is an athletic-based style of yoga that incorporates:
- Unique blend of postures to find balance in strength and flexibility/mobility
- Variety of breathing techniques to improve breath control/recovery
- Restorative postures and relaxation tools
The Joga movements (postures) are often the same every time as there are benchmark movements included so clients can see their personal results in terms of finding a balance of strength and flexibility.
SPORTS MASSAGE + FST
Fascial Stretch Therapy stretching techniques are focused on mobilizing the fascia, joint capsule and other connective tissues that may be limiting your flexibility, strength and performance. Combined with sports massage techniques to help reduce areas of tension, muscle soreness and aid in injury prevention and recovery.
